Reverend Leroy Clay, III

Preacher – Leader – Motivator… Reverend Leroy Clay III is the Pastor of Divine Love Baptist Church in Washington DC. The grandson of a Baptist preacher from North Carolina, the hunger to inspire and enrich lives is deeply rooted in his blood.

Reverend Clay has been actively involved in church ministry his entire life. At the age of 10, he began playing the drums in church. By the time he was 18, he had played with various choirs throughout the city including a 1,000-voice choir formed for the National Baptist Convention in 1991. Soon thereafter, Reverend Clay began playing the organ and directing the choir at Divine Love. After serving in that capacity for over ten years, he responded to his calling to ministry. On September 27, 2003, Reverend Clay preached his trial sermon at Divine Love.

Also a Certified Public Accountant, in addition to his work at Divine Love, Reverend Clay serves as the Associate Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia. In that capacity, he is responsible for the fiscal oversight of the District’s Economic Development and Regulatory agencies. Reverend Clay is a graduate of Howard University where he received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Government Finance Officers Association and is a board member of the DC International School.

Reverend Clay’s love for the unadulterated Word of God, coupled with his successful career in finance has guided a unique perspective in teaching the importance of faith and success. As the Lord spoke to Joshua in the Wilderness, Reverend Clay believes the Lord still speaks today: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)
